The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) is partnering with the Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (MACUL), Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), Michigan Virtual, Microsoft Imagine Academy, Minecraft: Education Edition (M:EE), the MiStem Network and the REMC Association of Michigan, on a unique learning opportunity to connect statewide work in the areas of Computer Science, including the implementation of the new K-12 CS Standards and many other technology-driven initiatives.

Mark Lyons, is the Region 6 Director of the Regional Educational Media Center(REMC). The REMC  Association provides “proactive leadership to the Michigan educational community by participating with other organizations in building a vision that supports quality teaching and learning and provides equity to Michigan’s pre-K-12 students.” In addition to Mark’s work with REMC, he is also the co-founder of the non-profit program All Music Is Power. The project is a fully interactive, musical concert series that reaches kindergarten through post secondary students who receive special education services.  Mark is the Technology Integration Specialist for Bay-Arenac ISD & Chapter Leader for Makers Making Change. He taught 14 years as a Special Education teacher, and he holds his endorsements in Autism & Emotional Impairment.
